SCRIPTURAL-BASED PRAYER FOR OUR PASTOR – PRAYING A HEDGE AROUND OUR SHEPHERD

SCRIPTURAL-BASED PRAYER FOR OUR PASTOR – PRAYING A HEDGE AROUND OUR SHEPHERD

  1. I thank you, Father, that Your eyes are on our shepherd and Your ears are attentive to our Pastor’s prayers and Your face is against those who plot evil against our Pastor (I Peter 3:12). For I know that in all things You work for the good of our Pastor who loves you (Romans 8:28). Who can accuse this pastor who is daily interceded for by Christ Jesus? (Romans 8:33-34) Thank You, God.
  1. Lord, I pray for discernment in exposing any scheme of the enemy against our Pastor. Show our congregation how to pray against all powers of this dark world in heavenly realms. And, Lord, protect us as we wage warfare on behalf of our Pastor (Ephesians 6:11-12).
  1. Father, I thank You that no weapons formed against our Pastor will prosper. Every tongue raised against our shepherd will be cast down. Rumors and gossip will be turned aside. For out Pastor will be still before the Lord and wait on Him. Our Pastor will dwell in the shadow of the Most High God and will be delivered from terror, doubt and diseases (Psalm 91:5-6). Set Your angels about our Pastor (Psalm 91:11) and no power of the enemy shall harm our Pastor (Luke 10:19).
  1. Lord, let our Pastor have a discerning mind to prioritize the precious minutes in the day. Let our Pastor discern what is most important and be guarded against the tyranny of the urgent (II Corinthians 11:14, I John 4:11).
  1. Father, allow out Pastor to glory only in the cross (Galatians 6:14). Keep our Pastor from pride and pity. Let the cross be his reason for ministry.
  1. Renew our Pastor in the Holy Spirit. Let him wait and mount up with eagle’s wings (Isaiah 40:27-31). Quicken our shepherd’s body with the Holy spirit (Romans 8:11). Renew our Pastor’s vision and confidence (I John 5:13-14).
  1. Jesus, keep our Pastor holy in every way (I Peter 1:16). Protect our shepherd from seducing spirits especially when he is tired and hard-pressed. Give our Pastor teammates to help protect him and to share with in personal holiness (James 4:7). As our Pastor draws near to You, draw near to our Pastor (James 4:8).
  1. Lord, as our shepherd spends quiet time with You, shed Your love abroad in his heart. Let him know how much he is loved (Romans 5:5). In Jesus’ name let the love of God be his mainstay in ministry.
  1. I pray that the eyes of our Pastor be enlightened to know the hope to which we are called and know the riches of our glorious inheritance in the saints. Let our Pastor know incomparable great power which is in us who believe (Ephesians 1:18-19). Let our Pastor see the full revelation of Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:12). Place in him a desire to know Christ and the power of His resurrection (Philippians 3:10).
  1. Lord, I lift up the hands of our Pastor and his family. Place them in the shelter of the Most High to rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Preserve their family time. Cover their home. Let Your faithfulness meet their financial needs in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Command Your angels to guard them as they travel and win the lost. You have said, “I will be with them in trouble, I will deliver them and honor them. With long life will I satisfy them and show them my salvation.” (Psalm 91:15-16).
  1. In Jesus’ name may church hurts, abuse and ungrateful forces move. May mountains of criticism, inordinate expectations, stress, and fatigue be cast into the sea. I believe every need, vision and dream of our Pastor’s will be completed (Mark 11: 22, 24).
  1. Forgive those who hurt our Pastor and speak against him and may he walk in forgiveness (Ephesians 4:32-5:1). Guard our Pastor from futile thinking (Ephesians 4:17) and a vain imagination. Let every thought be taken captive to obey Christ (II Corinthians 10:3-5).
  1. In Jesus’ name I bind the fear of failure and the fear of humankind (John 14:1). Let our Pastor’s confidence not be eroded by the daily resistance to the gospel or his vision. Allow him to fear God more than people.
  1. Father, heal our shepherd’s heart of any grief caused by ministry. Bestow on our Pastor a crown of beauty instead of ashes and anoint him with the oil of gladness instead of mourning. Clothe him with a garment of praise, instead of a spirit of depression (Isaiah 61:3).
  1. Jesus, You said, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me . . . Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you” (John 14:1, 27). Apply these promises to our Pastor. Let him know the plans You have for him – plans to prosper, plans to give hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
  1. Let the mind of Christ be strong in our Pastor (I Corinthians 2:16).
  1. Keep our Pastor in the midst of good and exciting worship. Keep him from the traditions of men and religion which hold a form of godliness but deny its power (II Timothy 3:5).
  1. Lord, I stand against the enemies of our Pastor’s prayer life: busyness (Acts 6:2-4), compulsions, compromises (Acts 5), unnecessary phone calls, chronic counselees, fatigue, sleepiness, over-commitment and doubt. Let nothing hinder his time with You. Let him rise up to seek You (Mark 1:35), pray with other pastors (Acts 1:14), and pray without ceasing (I Thessalonians 5:17). Give him the time, the desire and the place to pray (Acts 16:16).
  1. God, I pray that our Pastor will stand firm. Nothing will move him (I Corinthians 15L58). May he always give himself fully to Your work.
  1. Lord, keep our Pastor from comparing himself with other pastors. Guard his heart from competition and unhealthy ambitions (II Corinthians 10:18).
  1. Bless our Pastor with rich study time (Acts 6:4; II Timothy 2:15).
  1. As our Pastor preaches, let him proclaim Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:28). Let his preaching be in the energy of the Holy Spirit.
  1. Lord, by Your Holy Spirit, anoint our Pastor to preach and bring apostolic results (Acts 2:37). As he speaks the Word, let signs and wonders follow (Mark 16:20. Let people be cut to the heart and accept Jesus Christ.
  1. Lord, as You have promised, grant our shepherd lasting fruit (Malachi 3:11; John 15:16.
  1. Lord, make our Pastor strong and filled with courage for every task (Joshua 1). Let him lead us by the strength of Your Spirit and Word.
  1. In Jesus’ name, let our Pastor fight the good fight of faith, fleeing from evil to God by pursuing righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness (I Timothy 6:11-12). I praise You, Lord, that You have taken hold of this special shepherd in the personal experience of eternal life.
